Bud Darnell
CEDG President
Darnell, a Rotarian, has lead our efforts in assisting existing businesses in the Retail sector and the promotion of new Retail offerings thru-out Cheboygan County, businesses that make Cheboygan more attractive to visitors and tourists, the kind of businesses that help fuel economic growth County wide. He and his wife Barbara live in a 110 year old log home on Mullett Lake in Cheboygan County.
He has a Bachelors Degree from Alma College and a Masters Degree in Business from Columbia University in New York City.

Dick Sanford
CEDG Vice President
Sanford's business career spans 40+ years and includes the organization of many successful enterprises, notably the IBA Health and Life Assurance Company, of which he was the Founder, President and CEO. Dick is also the Founder and Honorary Chairman of the Small Business Association of Michigan, one of the nation's largest and most influential small business organizations. A champion of small business, he was selected by President Carter to assist in organizing the first ever White House Conference on Small Business in 1981, where he was elected Chairman of the Michigan Delegation. Following this conference he was appointed by President Reagan to the U.S. Small Business Administration National Board where he served till 1985. Following the White House Conference he was asked by then Michigan Governor Bill Milligan to serve as his Chairman and organizer of Michigan's first Small Business conference.
Dick has been involved in community service thru-out his career, serving, City, County and University levels as a volunteer "helping hand". He is a 38 year Rotarian member having served as Club Director numerous times and is currently an active member of the Cheboygan Rotary Club. He is also a member of Cheboygan Memorial Hospital's Development Council and Presidents Circle.
Dick holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Madison University, and post-graduate Business Designations from North Eastern University and The American College.
He has lived at Mullett Lake since the early 1980s with wife Cay. They call Cheboygan County their home of choice.

Sue Eno
CEDG Secretary
A tireless worker within our community supporting the improvement of the lives of residents in Cheboygan County, Sue has served as president of the Cheboygan Area Chamber of Commerce, as the captain and a member of the Citizens National Bank American Cancer Society Relay for Life team for a number of years, and is a recipient of the 2002 Cheboygan County Business and Professional Women’s Association "Woman of Distinction" award.
Sue is committed to quality health care, serving on many of Cheboygan Memorial Hospital’s committees, and is currently the chair of the hospital’s board of trustees.
Sue’s banking career spans 38 years, all of which have been as an employee of Citizens National Bank, where she currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer. She is active with the Michigan Bankers Association serving on its board of trustees.
She attended Northern Michigan University and is a graduate of the Madison, Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking. Sue and her husband, Steve, have two children, Amy and Steve, and four grandchildren.

Chris Sangster
CEDG Treasurer
Chris is an active supporter of small business in Cheboygan County, participating in the development and successes of many local businesses, in addition to performing Accounting and Tax Services.
He has also participated in numerous community volunteer efforts which have helped the Cheboygan Community to be a better place to live; including serving on the boards of cornerstone Christian School and the Cheboygan Area Chamber of Commerce.
Chris is a graduate of Cheboygan Public Schools and traveled afar to further his education, first to Western Michigan University to earn a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1984, then on to Walsh College of Accountancy and a Masters of Science Degree. He received a Certification of Public Accounting in 1990. He has been a practicing public accountant the past 19 years, and is a member of the Michigan Certified Financial Planners Association, The Michigan CPA Association and the National CPA Association.
Chris and wife Shaney, both grew up in Cheboygan County and following his education pursuits, returned to Cheboygan County to raise their two daughters, Alaana and Madelyn

Jamie McClurg
CEDG Director
McClurg is an ever active member of the communities in which he's lived during his career, including tenure as VP of the Ventura County United Way and as Director of the University of Michigan's Leadership Program.
Locally, Jamie serves as Chairman of the Cheboygan Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, Elder Board Chair of the Cheboygan Covenant Church, and is an Executive Committee and Board Member of the Cheboygan Economic Development Group. He's also a partner in the new Cheboygan Brewing Company in downtown Cheboygan.
Jamie attended University of Michigan, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. He then earned a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University. Jamie is married to Charlene his wife of 38 years, and they enjoy their children Aaron, Ryan, and their two grandchildren. Jamie enjoys sports and is active in fly fishing, hunting, water sports, and golf.

Scott Beard
CEDG Director
With a strong desire to live and work in Northern Michigan, he has been very active in the Cheboygan County community and has served or is still serving on various boards and organizations including the Cheboygan Are Chamber of Commerce, Cheboygan Jaycees, Straits Area Men's Hockey League, Cheboygan County Board of Commissioners, Straits Area Tourism Council, Cheboygan Youth Center, Downtown Development Authority, the Cheboygan Rotary Club, and many others.
He and his wife Lora, who reside in Benton Township, have 3 children, Bryan, Mandy, and Michelle and 3 grandchildren.

Lorenz has served in numerous leadership roles and associations:

Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of Michigan and a Masters Degree in Industrial Management from Central Michigan University. He and his wife, Bonnie, live in Cheboygan County on the Straits of Mackinac.
