Project: Expansion of Senior Services and Facilities
The Brook Retirement Community in Cheboygan
Given the aging population of Cheboygan County, there are many development opportunities associated with businesses that serve an older community. The construction of The Brook assisted living facility was an example of a major senior oriented development in 2010. Many other senior services projects could become a reality in our area.
The CEDG is currently working with developers to locate a Memory Care unit in our community to serve Alzheimer’s and patients with similar conditions close to home. The new business would work closely with Cheboygan Memorial Hospital and other agencies to serve that need.
Project Champion – Jamie McClurg
Jamie McClurg serves as President of the Board of Directors of Cheboygan Memorial Hospital.
He is also a principal in the new Cheboygan Brewing Company and is a member of the Cheboygan
Rotary Club. Jamie retired to Cheboygan, the location of his first management job with Proctor
and Gamble. He went on to a long career with P&G, returning to Cheboygan several years ago.
